Company History
CDS has been built over the years
through internal growth and a number of strategic acquisitions.
CDS began its network of component and contract manufacturing companies
in 1977 as a machined component supplier to the California aerospace
industry. CDS diversified into the semiconductor equipment industry,
oil equipment markets, in addition to continued growth in the aerospace
industry in the 1980’s.
| With an ever conscious eye toward
expanding its customer base and providing existing customers with
a growing array of manufacturing capabilities, CDS acquired CMS
Welding & Machining in October 1998. Founded in 1983, CMS Welding
& Machining had grown to become one of the world's largest,
independent producers of ultra high welded vacuum chambers.
Today, from the heart of Silicon Valley in Fremont, California,
CDS continues to provide complex chambers and associated components
to its national and international customers. |

CDS eventually evolved into the contract
manufacturing arena in order to focus on the integrated assembly, module,
and system needs of high technology equipment customers. CDS product focus
is complex electromechanical systems and subassemblies. CDS capabilities
include capital equipment assembly, clean room assembly, system level
testing, electrical design, mechanical design, supply chain management,
and manufacturing documentation.
